About Me Syusims
About Syusims: how a Venezuelan fan went from dreaming of buying The Sims to building a YouTube channel for the Latin American Sims community.

About me, Syusims, in love with The Sims since 2008
My relationship with The Sims
“When I earn enough money, I am going to buy The Sims, it is a dream I have”
I will never forget when I said this sentence to my boyfriend. Living in Venezuela, buying The Sims was something beyond the idea of treating yourself to a luxury or a pleasure.
And even if it sounds silly, being able to buy The Sims without feeling guilt, regret or going broke became one of my dreams.
A dream that today I can say I am fulfilling with firm steps.
It all started when Origin gave away The Sims 4, the base game
I remember that in one of its surprise promotions, Origin decided one day to give away the base game of The Sims 4. It was my chance!
However, I remember that I put it to download, like many people, and apparently that crashed the Origin launcher.
I left the computer on, but it progressed irregularly or simply did nothing.
So, very, very sad, I decided to give up on getting it for free and stick to my plan of working hard to buy it without it weighing on my wallet.
But to my surprise, in December 2019 when I had already decided to buy the game no matter the price, since I had worked a lot all that year, I realized that the game was in my Origin after all!
I got The Sims 4 Base Game for FREE
So, with the money I had, I decided to start buying the DLCs.
And throughout 2020, every time there was a Sims sale, I took advantage and bought something. A stuff pack here, an expansion there.
That same year, when I was finally able to complete The Sims 4 collection, I started to cry.
A game that had captivated me like a little girl since its release in 2014, and that back then getting it was simply impossible for me.
Now I had it at my disposal with all of its official additional content.
But It Does Not End There, Before It Was About Me Syusims and The Sims 4
Other sites such as Fanatical.com and Amazon itself also launched major Sims sales, and not only for The Sims 4, but for The Sims 3, The Sims 2 and even The Sims Medieval.
Seeing them, I remembered my time with my old, modest PC (which could not run The Sims 3 well) and I decided to start buying them too.
Nostalgia can be a very strong emotion, but the happiness of having them is definitely worth it.
That was when I decided to share my excitement with everyone.
It Is No Longer About Me Syusims but About Bringing a Little Joy to Everyone
“What if I somehow share with others this joy I feel when playing The Sims?”
The answer to that question ended up translating into two things:
- My YouTube Channel SyuSims (subscribe if you have not yet)
- Giving away for FREE the same happiness that I received for free thanks to Origin
The second is something I am achieving little by little thanks to the giveaways where I give away Sims 4 content to a lucky one of my YouTube subscribers.
About My New Dream Syusims
Now that I have been able to complete my Sims 4 collection, and that I want to keep buying Sims products from previous and future versions, I have a new dream.
It seems simple, but it is costing me quite a lot, and it is reaching 1000 subscribers on my YouTube channel.
It is not that I want to be a Sims Guru, but I would like my voice to be noticed enough for EA (Electronic Arts Ltd) to listen not only to me, but to the entire Latin American Sims community.
That is why I ask you, who have made it this far in my little biography as Syusims, to help me fulfill my dream, since it is not something I can accomplish alone.
Well, with that I say goodbye, but not before giving you a GIFT for having made it this far so you can enjoy The Sims 4 to the fullest.
