Complete Sims 4 gardening guide
If you are interested in The Sims 4, you surely know that the gardening skill is essential to the game. Indeed, it is a basic skill included in the base game that can be developed by growing plants and harvesting their fruit. Among the activities needed to progress in this skill are planting seeds, watering plants, applying pesticide and encouraging their growth. In addition, there are many more interactions that will let you advance in this skill.
Gardening is very useful, since it lets you create more plants such as the death flower or ambrosia, which are very useful in the game. If you also have the Outdoor Retreat Game Pack, you can make herbal remedies that will be of great help.
If you want your sim to set out into the world of gardening without having a job, you have two options. The first is buying seeds from the phone or computer or harvesting plants you see in the world.
The best way to level up gardening without cheating is by doing the following:
| PLANT | WATER PLANTS | FERTILIZE PLANTS |
| LOOK UP PLANT INFORMATION | REMOVE WEEDS | TAKE CUTTINGS |
| BUY GARDENING BOOKS | SPRAY PESTICIDE | ENCOURAGE GROWTH |
| TALK TO PLANTS | HARVEST | GRAFT PLANTS |
If you want to improve your gardening skill in The Sims 4 quickly and profitably, it is essential to be consistent and pay attention to your plants' needs. A good recommendation is to dedicate your sim's time 2-3 times a day to taking care of the plants, for example after each meal. This way you can raise your gardening skill level quickly while earning income. Don't forget to watch each plant's specific needs and make sure to water and prune them regularly to keep them healthy and productive.

How to take care of plants in The Sims 4
If you want healthy plants in The Sims 4, it is essential to know a few important things. First, you must keep in mind that plants need constant care to grow properly and reach their full splendor.
Watering: It is essential that you do not forget to water your plants every 3-4 days to keep them hydrated.
Weed removal: Plants can be affected by unwanted weeds that you must remove to ensure proper growth.
Spraying pesticide: Sometimes plants can be invaded by pests that affect their development, so you need to spray them to get rid of these intruders.
Fertilizing: If you want to improve the quality of your plants, you can fertilize them with other plants or even with fish.
Encouraging growth: Plants have a happiness meter that you must fill to encourage their development and increase their quality.
Talking to plants: It seems crazy, but talking or singing to your plants can improve their happiness and their development.
Harvesting fruit: When plants reach maturity, they produce fruit that you can pick and use for cooking, selling or simply enjoying.
Taking care of your plants in The Sims 4 is essential to prevent their death, but if it does happen, it is possible to revive them as long as not much time has passed. However, it is worth mentioning that you can only do so if you have raised your gardening level enough.

How do you get the death flower in The Sims 4?
You can get the Death Flower in The Sims 4 by grafting:
- Apple + Cherry = Pomegranate
- Lily + Snapdragon = Orchid
- Orchid + Pomegranate = Death Flower
However, you can also be lucky and fish for it in some lake; you just need to be patient.
Grafting in The Sims 4: everything you need to know
With this technique you will not only get new fruit, but you can also combine two plants to create a unique and surprising plant.
To start with this technique, you must unlock level 7 of the gardening skill in The Sims 4. Then, you will have to take a cutting from one of your plants and graft it onto another plant. Once the graft is complete, you will notice that the plant's name changes to “grafted plant”.
It is important that both the plant you take the cutting from and the grafted one are mature.
The best thing about this technique is that you will get the fruit of both plants. In addition, if the combined plants produce a new fruit, you will get that as well. So do not hesitate to experiment with different combinations and discover new varieties of fruit! Remember to be patient, as you will have to wait a little to get the fruit of the new plant.
The fruits you can get from grafting are:
- Apple + Cherry = Pomegranate
- Lily + Snapdragon = Orchid
- Orchid + Pomegranate = Death Flower
- Strawberry + Snapdragon = Dragon Fruit
- Dragon Fruit + Snapdragon = Cow Berry
- Strawberry + Daisy = Bonsai Buds
